BabyZone.com Is Born
In 1995, the Internet was born. Although it was available long before to a small number of people, ten years ago it became readily available to millions. One year later, in 1996, BabyZone.com came into the world. As always, the story of the company's inception is a personal one.
Jeanine Cox, the Publisher and Co-Founder of BabyZone.com, was an art gallery owner living in South Florida. When she became pregnant, she looked for answers on the Internet to all the questions a first-time parent has.
There was virtually no useful, organized information that was quickly and easily accessible. So Jeanine did what all successful entrepreneurs do - she built it herself. She reasoned that if she needed comprehensive, easy to use parenting information, so did millions of expectant and new parents, too.
Jeanine's intuition was right. BabyZone.com was born and so was Jeanine's daughter, Nadia Grace.
BabyZone.com became popular almost immediately. The site grew so quickly that Jeanine needed to build a management team as soon as she could. And just like BabyZone's birth, it was a family affair. Jeanine's husband, Lew Bednarczuk, came into the business. Lew had the experience to take BabyZone.com to the next level of growth. A 15-year online industry executive, Lew left his position at CBS SportsLine.com and joined BabyZone.com as President and CEO.
Lew and Jeanine, like any successful business owners, took the next step. They needed to build a software development and content team quickly. And, once again, while the business grew, so did the Cox-Bednarczuk family. Baby Oliver Max came along. All at once, BabyZone.com began its intense focus on developing best of breed technology and tools to clearly differentiate itself in the marketplace.
And now, BabyZone.com will continue to lead the way in delivering innovative solutions for parents worldwide.
